Presenter will share strategies used with students for taking and processing notes in ESL math classrooms. Attendees will learn how to create mind maps and model note-taking and note-processing with students. Attendees will go through a sample math lesson to show how they can use the Frayer Model for Vocabulary, Mind Mapping for notes and examples, and Kagan's Think-Pair-Share for collaboration during the lesson. Attendees will leave with templates (hard copies or electronics) and, hopefully, a growth mindset that working strategies don't have to be complicated or time-consuming.
